All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." ~ Thomas JeffersonDo you want our troops out of Iraq? Do you want to protest, but afraid of being labeled "a liberal"? Do you feel powerless and unnoticed? If so, then come join the Brownlows At A Peaceful Protest In Clackamas (on the Sunnyside Road/I-205 overpass) Saturday, December 23rd at 2:00pm – 3:00pm “Peace on Earth, Good Will to All Men” As you may recall, earlier this month at this location, the Brownlow family had their 1st Amendment rights of assembly and free speech brusquely denied them (and had their property ripped from their hands and were temporarily detained, threatened and intimidated) by an Oregon State Trooper. This done on the 215th anniversary of the Bill of Rights! After meetings with the Oregon State Police, we have been assured that this will not happen again. But, if we do not continue our protest, out of fear of intimidation, to exercise our right of free speech and assembly, to speak out against this war, we will lose our “guaranteed” constitutional rights. We must not stop our protest against the war! So come out and join our peaceful protest. Our troops rely on us to get them home. Peaceful protest will remind our leaders that over 71+% of Americans are against the war in Iraq. "We the People" need to be heard; and time is running out for the soldiers! Large anti-war signs might say:
See "In Defense of the Gospel of Peace: An Evangelical Antiwar View" More sign ideas geared toward Christians:
Or take quotes from the Founding Fathers:
More quotes from our Founding Fathers regarding war powers of the Congress: http://warandlaw.homestead.com/files/foundin2.html Wear: Warm, rain-proof clothing; a smile; and a Santa hat (if you have one) which will get you noticed. Park: SE parking lot of the Clackamas Town Center Where to Protest: On sidewalk, on overpass (Make sure you do not block vehicle or pedestrian traffic; do not hang or drop anything over the highway cars below; may protest on both sides of Sunnyside overpass) Please note that there will be folks (many who are military families) from different philosophies on different issues joining us at this protest. So, please respect that by not discussing our differences. But, on this one issue - Bring Our Troops Home! – We will all be united! Let It Be the Believers Who Speak Up For Our Troops During This Christmas Season! BELIEVERS AGAINST THE WAR P.O. Box 2965 Clackamas, OR 97015 dave@runtherace.org

We've staked our future on our ability to follow the Ten Commandments with all of our heart. -- James Madison |
The Constitution Party of Oregon is an independent state political party with ballot access in the state of Oregon under that name. We have achieved exclusive use of ballot access in Oregon with that name by collecting petition signatures, by our subsequent candidates' performance at the polls, and by the number of voters who have chosen to register with our party in this state, as required by its election laws.
Our independent existence does not interfere with us putting candidates on the ballot. We are at total liberty to place a presidential and vice-presidential candidate (and Oregon electors pledged to them) on the ballot in Oregon. We can do so, no matter what their party affiliation is or what national party (if any) has nominated them, if they meet our basic criteria for candidates, including a 100% pro life position as described in our state party platform. To date, we have placed only presidential candidates nominated at the Constitution Party National Convention on the Oregon ballot.
As our platform makes clear, we are 100% pro life in our stand, considering all human life to be innocent at conception. We have not compromised that 100% pro life position by nominating candidates or state party officers unsupportive to that stand. We are not currently affiliated with any group of state parties from other parts of the nation, though our sympathies lie with the many independent state parties formerly or currently represented in the Constitution Party National Committee.
